That cat. It’s the third time it’s walked past me today. I keep catching a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye. Something moves and I turn my head, seeing its sleek figure stroll past, balancing on the wall just across the road.
I stare out the window at it for a moment and it stares right back for a second. Then, as if noting my unimportance and utter irrelevance to its life, it continues its balancing act effortlessly and disappears from sight.
Not a care in the world, not a worry on its mind, it strolls from A to B and back again, not caring about anything much. It’s a nice day, a day for wondering, a day for going where only cats go and off it leisurely plods.
Here it comes again, stopping as a motorbike rumbles down the street, looking down on it from its privileged perch. Then, turning the corner once more it enters the neighbour’s patio and is gone just as quickly as it came.
As if the internet didn’t have enough cats already… But hey, if a cat is distracting you from writing, write about the cat… or something like that.
